"Psalm 71:17 was created because the four of us all decided that we weren't doing enough as Christians. We were going to church on Sunday and Wednesday, and conducting a devotional every month, but that was all! Basically bare minimum spiritual activity, and none of us wanted that. This website was created so that we could reach out to the community WHILE edifying each other. We've learned a lot from each other in this team's process, whether it be through an article or a video or even just talking face-to-face about our ideas. Psalm 71:17 was created to teach other people about God, yes. But it was also created so that WE wouldn't become lax in our Christian lives.

Psalm 71:17 began as a simple idea between four boys. This idea centered around the fact that these four (Reese, Noah, Cy, and Gabe) all wanted the same thing: to teach people about God. The problem was that they didn't really have a good outlet to do so. They had created a group back in 2014 called "S.O.S", which stood for "Serving our Savior", and yet they never did anything with it other than create a logo for it, and talk about ideas they had for it. Then, around 2015, the boys began tossing the idea of starting a website back and forth. Eventually, Noah actually took that step, and created the website you're on now. At the time, it was simply the Home and Article pages. Now, four years later, the website has over thirty-five pages, sixteen articles, fourteen puppet scripts, and seventy-one YouTube videos. Quite obviously, the little group flourished. But for a while it looked as though the website was one click away from ending.

They had even scheduled a time to film the intro, but that was postponed when one of the boys broke his finger the day that they had scheduled it. The idea sort of died down until July, when Reese and Noah started to get a lot more serious about the idea, as well as starting the website back up. Problem was, Reese was on a mission trip at the time, and no progress could be made then, because they all had to be together to make the intro video. Even when Reese got home, they found it difficult to plan a day to film the intro.
