(Puppets up)

Jim: Hey, Bob!

Bob: Hey, Jim! Do you want to hear an awesome story?

Jim: Well, sure!

Bob: Well, we learn from the Bible that Jesus always had people following him.

Jim: That’s true, Bob.

Bob: Well, like normal people, these people got hungry.

Jim: I NEEEEEEEVVVVEEEER get hungry. (turns) Mom! Is my sandwich ready? No? Ok. (turns back to Bob, who is shaking his head) Continue.

Bob: Anyway, these people got hungry. But they didn’t have materials to make sandwiches.

Jim: (gasp) Nooooooooooooooooooo!

Bob: I know. All they had was five loaves of bread, and two fishes.

Jim: Oh. They could eat that.

Bob: One problem: there were 5,000 men! Not including women and children.

Jim: Oh. Yeah. That’s a problem. So what happened?

Bob: Jesus performed an amazing miracle to help them!

Jim: What was it?

Bob: Jesus said a prayer over the food. And then he gave it to the people.

Jim: But there wasn’t enough!

Bob: Oh, yes there was! There was enough for everybody, plus twelve baskets of leftovers!

Jim: (gasp) How did Jesus do that?

Bob: God is powerful, Jim. And Jesus performed this miracle through him.

Jim: Wow, Bob! That’s cool! Can you tell me about another miracle?

Bob: Sure! See, after Jesus fed the 5,000, he wanted to be alone. Just him and God.

Jim: That’s understandable. Sometimes I wish YOU would leave ME alone!

Bob: Haha! Anyway, the apostles-

Jim: Oh! Those are Jesus’s followers! I've heard of them!

Bob: Yup! That’s them. They got into a boat and started across the lake. And in the middle of the night, it started to storm.

Jim: Oh. That’s not good.

Bob: Oh, no it wasn’t. The apostles were afraid of the storm. But they were even more afraid of what they saw next.

Jim: What? What happened next?

Bob: They saw someone walking on the water!

Jim: (gasp) Whoa!

Bob: They thought it was a ghost!

Jim: (scoffs) There are no such things as ghosts.

Bob: Boo.

Jim: AHHH! (Looks at Bob) (clears throat) Continue.

Bob: It wasn’t a ghost, was it kids? It was Jesus, walking on water!

Jim: Wow! He could do that?

Bob: Yup. And Peter, one of the Apostles, said, “Lord, if that’s you, let me come to you.” And Jesus said yes!

Jim: So Peter walked on the water?!

Bob: He did. But when he saw the storm, and the waves, and heard the wind, he got scared, and started to sink.

Jim: (gasp) Oh nooooo!

Bob: But Jesus saved him!

Jim: Yay!

Bob: And they got back into the boat, and the storm stopped!

Jim: Wow! So, the miracle was walking on water?

Bob: Yup.

Jim: I bet I could do that! (both make “SPLASH” sound) (comes back up) Never mind.

Bob: No, you can’t do miracles! Only Jesus and some of his apostles could do miracles.

Jim: Wow, Bob. Thanks for telling me about miracles. I got wet, but you know what?

Bob: What?

Jim: It was worth it!

Both: Bye, kids!
