It was a cold January day in Oxfordshire, England, when a baby by the name of Winston Churchill was born. Now, I'm sure Winston Churchill is a name that we have all known and we've all heard. But I hope we all know what he did in World War II. If you take him out of the picture in World War II, England would have lost, and it'd be very different here. World War II turns out very differently if he is not in England, protecting England, fighting.

Now I want you to open your imagination a little bit, your imagination needs to be a part of this article. I want to use a metaphor here, and I want you to kind of keep up with me, okay? He was an evil man. He was an adversary, he was a deceiver. That's why I'm using him as Satan.

We need to realize that we as Christians cannot fight this spiritual battle on our own. And you say, "well, what do we need? If we can't win this battle on our own, what do we need?" Well, we need God. We need God's Word.

So that is how we fight the spiritual battle, that's how we stand against the schemes of Satan. It is how we fight. With the armor of God. We ask, "what is the Armor of God?" The Armor of God consists of six pieces: the belt of truth, the breastplate of righteousness, the shoes of the Gospel of peace, the shield of faith, the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit.
So that is how we fight the spiritual battle, that's how we stand against the schemes of Satan. It is how we fight. With the armor of God. We ask, "what is the Armor of God?" But really, when it says that, it's referring to the entire armor of God. I like to say: Armor of God = Word of God.

Belt of Truth: John 17:17 says, "sanctify them in Your truth; Thy Word is truth". So the Bible is truth. It's our belt of truth. Physically, the belt in the armor would hold all the pieces of armor together. That's what the Bible does, it holds everything together.

Second is the breastplate of righteousness. Righteousness is defined as: "all the commandments of God", you're following all the commandments of God. And if you're doing that, you're not going to sin, you're going to stand against sin.

It's the same way we as Christians use the shield of faith to block sin, Satan's darts, and it guides us with faith.

Winston Churchill had Jesus' attitude, and he didn't he didn't deal with that. He fought it! That's what Jesus said to Satan! He said, "Get behind me Satan!" He fought Satan, He used the sword of the Spirit.
Last, but certainly not least, is the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God, but all of the pieces of the word of God, and it is sharper than any two-edged sword. In conclusion, Churchill had the attitude of never giving up. We as Christians can NOT give up, we cannot take a break and take off the armor of God. Because when we do that, Satan is gonna flock upon us. Physically if you took off your armor, you could get shot, you would die! So if you take off this armor of God, and take a break, and give up, Satan's gonna tempt you. Satan's not going to tempt you when you're full in armor and you're at your strongest. He's gonna try to tempt you, make you sin, when you're at your weakest. So we cannot give up.
In conclusion, Churchill had the attitude of never giving up. We as Christians can NOT give up, we cannot take a break and take off the armor of God. Because when we do that, Satan is gonna flock upon us. Physically if you took off your armor, you could get shot, you would die! So if you take off this armor of God, and take a break, and give up, Satan's gonna tempt you. Satan's not going to tempt you when you're full in armor and you're at your strongest. He's gonna try to tempt you, make you sin, when you're at your weakest. So we cannot give up.
I will end with one of the most famous speeches that Winston Churchill ever gave. I believe it was at an elementary-school, I'm not completely sure. But he stood up, and this was his speech. He said: "Never. Never. Never give up."
