Perhaps the wisest man to ever live, King Solomon, told us that we should not have pride, or a haughty spirit, as both would lead to a downfall. So there's no way that, in our society today, we have an entire movement who stand behind the word "Pride". There's no way that now we have AN ENTIRE MONTH titled "Pride Month", because that would just be plain wrong. There's no way that's the case, right?

#PRIDE has become the rallying cry of the LGBTQ community. Their reason for this is that they believe anyone who fits into that category shouldn't be ashamed of it. They should feel PRIDE in who they are, and declare it to the world.

Galatians 6:14 says: "But God forbid that I should boast except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom the world has been crucified to me, and I to the world."

So the Bible tells us that not only is pride a precursor to destruction, but also that if we feel the need to boast something, boast about Christ.

But maybe I'm being overly critical, maybe this community actually DOES have something to be legitimately proud of. Maybe the Bible does allow pride in this one instance.

And with those three verses I can tell you for certain that God does not regard the #PRIDE of the LGBTQ community as a righteous pride. Christians today are divided on this topic, but there's no real reason we should be; in Leviticus, God told us of His initial position on homosexuality. And in Romans and 1 Corinthians, He tells us nothing has changed. This shouldn't be surprising; God destroyed two entire cities in the book of Genesis because they were committing this very sin.

These men were committing the sin of homosexuality, lusting after the angels who had arrived earlier on. So how did God respond to this?

"Tolerance" is the word that is being beaten into America right now. We're told that if we're not tolerant, we're guilty of hate. Well, I don't know about you, but I don't think that raining hellfire onto two cities seems very tolerant to me.

God shows us His opinion on this matter. He knows that it's a sinful lifestyle! And the homosexual community knows it as well, as every symbol and slogan they use is a jibe at the Word of God.

Their flag is the colors of the rainbow, a sign from God as a promise that He would never again destroy the world with water.

The second of those slogans is absolutely correct. Love does win. Because 1 John 4:8 tells us that "He who does not love does not know God, for God is love." Love will win, because our God is love.

Their #PRIDE goes before their destruction. Their flag does remind us that yes, God will never again destroy the earth with water. But Revelation tells us that He will destroy the earth again, with fire, and all will be judged. He tells us that He is love, and that if we love Him, we will keep His commandments. And in both Testaments He calls homosexuality a sin.

I choose to read the Bible as God inspired it. This doesn't make me "intolerant", or a "homophobe." It makes me a dedicated Christian. And I'd take that over being culturally acceptable any day.
